The Office of Strategic Communication provides a broad range of services and is committed to developing and executing strategic communications programs designed to gain and sustain public support of the University. OSC assists each client with reaching marketing and communications goals, including crisis communications, copywriting and editing, graphic design, media relations, marketing consulting, seminars and training, and website development and tools. As the campus-level strategic communications and marketing unit, OSC manages the campus website and responds to national surveys in addition to a wide array of special projects. OSC provides public relations, marketing and planning assistance to the president, deans and department heads, advancement/development and alumni relations, admissions, student and career services. OSC is committed to working with the two campuses – San Bernardino and Palm Desert – to coordinate efforts and ensure the consistent application of the University's image and messages.
There are three divisions within OSC – Creative Services, providing graphic design, project management, and advertising services; Marketing and Public Relations (formerly Public Affairs/News Bureau), delivering research and campus-related press content, CSUSB brand and identity program management, CSUSB Magazine; and, the Photography/Videography Department, providing a variety of photography and videography services for campus units.

The Creative Services team produces publications that support campus departments and events, including the CSUSB news website, student recruitment materials, CSUSB Magazine, various college and department newsletters, program brochures, digital and online publications, event programs and other promotional materials. The CS team can provide consultation on production options, as well as editing and proofreading support.
