Nurturing the Creative Mind
CSUSB art students get hands-on experience working on ceramic tile mosaics. Their creativity was used to beautify the local community by installing the artwork on Northpark Ave. in San Bernardino in 2013. The Judy Watson Rodriguez Public Art Fund provides opportunities for students to gain real-world experience while giving back to the community.
Leaders in Literacy
CSUSB partnered with the Molina Foundation to help eradicate illiteracy in the Inland Empire by distributing more than 2,000 books to children on International Literacy Day in September 2014. Former CSUSB Philanthropic Foundation Board Chair and President of Watson & Associates, Jim Watson, experienced the power of reading first hand with a group of second-graders at Grand Terrance Elementary School.
Palm Desert Campus Changes Everything
CSUSB’s Palm Desert Campus became the only four-year comprehensive university in the Coachella Valley in 2013. Built with private support from generous donors, community members and organizations, CSUSB’s Palm Desert Campus is truly transforming lives every day.
Educating the Region’s Best Nurses
The demand for medical professionals in the Inland Empire is high, and CSUSB’s Nursing Program is one of the most sought after among students and employers. Ron and Sherrie Auen of the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation have been instrumental in bringing cutting edge simulators to the Palm Desert Campus’s health sciences laboratory enabling students to get hands-on experience for their professional careers.
Teaching through Technology
Marissa Hobbs, a CSUSB kinesiology student, studies body composition with the field’s leading technological tools thanks to the generosity of donors, friends and industry partners. Their support to CSUSB directly benefits students and the faculty who guide and teach them every day.
